I’m leaving today.
But, before I go, I have a few words to say.
To my friends: Thank you so much for your support and for being such great friends. I am convinced that I have the best network of friends in the whole world. If you want to argue my point, I’ll be back in June; we’ll talk then.
To InterVarsity: God has such great things in store for the campus of UNC Charlotte! And He’s going to do all that He has planned to do, whether we’re on board or not. So let’s not be a group that stands behind the yellow tape in God’s construction zone–get down with that mud and dig and lay brick and supply water and do whatever it takes to do God’s will. Just follow His leadership and don’t let the odds get you down. Remember Joshua.
To my church family: I hate that I didn’t get to see any of you on Sunday. I’ll miss serving you the next few months, but I’ll be back. In the meantime, stay involved in God’s business, catch His vision, and pray. There’s a meeting to that purpose every Tuesday night at 7:00.
To my family: I’ll try to keep my hands still. And I’ll get a cart first-thing when I get to Gatwick. I’ll even try not to lose track of time when I’m on my computer (it’s 6:37 EST right now). Just please let me know if anything serious happens, and don’t give me any of that “Lightening’s on the roof” stuff. Tell me straight.
To Lightening: Don’t go out on the roof.
Finally, to all of you: I don’t want to be out-of-sight, out-of-mind for the next few months. Keep me posted, please, on the important things that happen in your lives. (Facebook is a good resource, for those of you who have it. Keep those relationship statuses up-to-date.
Besides that, and far more importantly, I would like to ask that you would pray for me while I’m over there. Pray that I would be safe, that I would adjust well to the customs of this new country; please pray that I will live courageously as God would have me, and pray that I would make a positive impact on those I meet while I’m away. That’s all I ask–for now. Thanks, and be seeing you!
